MY GIRL
Part 11

Thanks to Mandi, Connie, Lois, Acacia & Darren...

Justin struggled with the overnight bag on his shoulder and Bella in his arms as he opened the front door. Once inside, he dropped the bag to the floor and leaned against the door, sighing in relief. Home at last. But his relief only lasted a couple of seconds.

"It's Justin, Dad." Gus was at the top of the steps. "Need some help?"

"Gus!" Bella screamed when she saw Gus and stretched her arms out to reach him.

Justin groaned when her weight was lifted from his body. "Thanks, hon. Your dad make you dinner already?"

Gus kissed Bella on the cheek and let her pull on his spiky hair. Gus was a looker, very much like his father. He had Brian's slim physique and to-die-for chiseled face. Thankfully, he got Lindsay's heart. He was such a sweet kid. Justin hoped he'd never change.

"He started making us macaroni and cheese from scratch," Gus lowered his voice as he continued. "but the cheese sorta burnt in the micorwave. So he got us pizza." his voice went back to normal when he added, "We left a couple slices if you're hungry."

"I wan! I wan!" Bella said, clapping her hands happily at the thought of food.

"You just had half of my sandwich, Bella." Justin said in disbelief. "You can't be hungry again!"

Gus laughed and took her up the steps. "Hey, you wanna play a game?" he asked her.

She wrapped an arm around his neck. "Yeah! Wanna play! Wanna play."

Justin was grateful Gus was spending the weekend. Brian would never argue in front of his son...well, not too much anyway. Grabbing his bag off the floor, he slowly walked up the stairs.

The TV was on but Brian had his laptop on the table in front of him. When he saw Justin, he said nothing, but went back to his work.

Justin wasn't in the mood to argue so he walked up to their bedroom. Dropping the bag on the floor, he took off his t-shirt and unbuttoned his pants before collapsing on the bed, exhausted.

He must have dozed off because when his eyes opened again, it was more than an hour later. He took a long shower, loving the feel of the warm water against his body. He put on Brian's robe since it was within reach...or maybe because he needed to feel Brian's arms around him tonight and he knew the robe was as close as he was going to get to that happening.

When he got out of the bathroom, Gus and Bella were on his bed.

"Hey Justin, you wanna play Scrabble with us?" Gus begged.

"Sure." Justin searched his drawer for underwear. "So how's school?"

He and Gus normally spent a lot of their time talking. Gus confided almost everything to Justin and Brian. Justin wasn't sure why but he assumed it was because they were men. And because his mommies could be a tad bit overprotective at times.

"It's alright. I got an A on that Science project you helped me with." Gus said proudly, as he tickled a giggling Bella. "The teacher thinks I'm a 'natural artist.' If she only knew."

They laughed.

"The volcano was your idea...All I did was paint." Justin offered with a smile. He slipped on his underwear quickly.

"And dad built it." Gus laughed. "That was so wrong!"

"You'll do the next one. We promise."

"Did I tell you I joined the swim team?"

"Really? Swimming along with soccer?"

"It's not so bad." Gus paused. "I met a girl."

Justin sat on the edge of the bed. Bella immediately crawled over to him to get a kiss. "A girl?" Justin grinned when he noticed how red Gus was getting. After he kissed Bella on her pouty mouth, she crawled back over to Gus.

"Girl?" Bella repeated.

"Her name's Amanda," Gus said.

"That's nice. How did you two meet?"

"How'd who meet?" Brian asked as he walked into the room. He plopped down on the foot of the bed, pulling Bella on his chest. Holding her up in the air, he asked, "What are they talking about, sweetheart?"

" A girl." Bella blurted out smartly. She loved playing airplane with Brian.

Justin shook his head at Gus. "I should warn you, she can't keep a secret. And she's ALWAYS listening."

Gus grinned. "It's just Dad anyway."

"So tell me already," Brian demanded.

"I was telling Justin about this girl I met at soccer practice."

Brian pulled Bella down for a kiss and put her back on the bed. "What position does she play?"

"Dad!" Gus whined. "How should I know?"

"I don't want you falling for just anybody. Is she a striker?" Brian asked. At Gus' frustrated look, he added, "Didn't you ask her? Didn't you see her play?"

Gus shrugged. "Mom sorta came over as soon as I started talking to her."

Justin rolled his eyes heavenward. "What did Linds do?"

Gus sighed. "She said, and I quote, "Is this your new FRIEND, Gus? Why don't you invite her over to dinner sometime? She's so lovely." I wanted to die on the spot!"

Brian and Justin looked at each other and then burst out laughing. "You're kidding, right?" Justin asked.

Gus shook his head. "And then Mom started holding my hand and touching my face. Amanda looked sick. Hell, I felt sick!"

"Poor kid." Brian tousled his son's hair. "Want me to talk to her?"

"Thanks Dad, but I'll talk to her myself." he tickled Bella again. "You guys ready to play scrabble?"

"Who goes first?" Gus asked.

They all sat at the kitchen table with the exception of Bella, who was on the floor playing with Gus' toy cars.

Justin looked up at Brian.

"Why are you looking at me?" Brian asked coldly.

Justin glared. "Do you want to go first or not?"

"Fine, I'll go first." Brian dipped his hand into the bag and pulled out seven blocks.

After taking a few minutes, he came up with C-O-W-A-R-D.

He gave Justin a meaningful look when he finished. Justin snorted.

"My turn." Justin said. "I'll use your A here and get L-I-A-R."

Brian chortled.

Gus looked from Justin to Brian. "Is something wrong? What's with the funny noises?"

Justin faked a smile. "Nothing's wrong, hon." He noticed Bella trying to get her foot into the car. "James-Bella! Stop that!"

Bella huffed a little, but when she saw Brian's look, she immediately stopped and went back to pushing the cars around the kitchen floor.

Gus took a turn, came up with D-U-N-C-E and it was Brian's again. He spelt H-I-D-E-O-U-T.

Justin gritted his teeth. He kept his gaze on the board as he spelt C-H-E-A-T-E-R. Smugly, he glanced at Brian.
Brian ignored him until Gus was finished spelling C-O-N-S-I-D-E-R. Using Gus' letters, Brian was able to spell I-N-C-O-N-S-I-D-E-R-A-T-E.

Justin glared at Brian for so long that Gus had to remind him it was his turn.

Never taking his gaze off Brian, Justin spelt I-M-P-O-T-E-N-T.

Brian snorted. "Is that some kind of fucking joke?"

Justin raised an eyebrow. "If the shoe fits."

Brian snorted. "You're so full of shit, Justin."

"If you say so, Brian."

Gus' eyebrows were raised in confusion. "Um...you guys, what does impotent mean?"

Justin opened his mouth but nothing came out.

Brian tugged on an ear, tongue in cheek.

Gus waited. "Well? Is it even a word? Or are you guys trying to cheat me?"

Justin ran the tip of his tongue along the edges of his top teeth. "Brian?"

Brian raised an eyebrow. "Don't look at me. It's your word, you tell him."

Justin gently kicked Brian's foot underneath the table.

He took a deep breath and turned to Gus. "It's when you can't perform."

"Perform?" Gus asked, still confused.

"Yeah, perform. You're powerless."

"So mom's impotent when she can't-"

"No, Sonnyboy." Brian laughed at last. "It's when you can't perform in bed."

Gus bit his lip. "Why can't you perform in bed?"

Justin burst out laughing.

"I CAN PERFORM, Gus," Brian corrected. "Some people are just jealous they're not as well endowed as others."

Justin stuck his tongue out childishly at Brian's comment, obviously directed at him.

"No, no. I meant, what makes someone impotent in bed?" Gus asked.

Brian groaned. "Don't they have fucking sex education classes at that private school? I mean, I pay a fucking fortune. The least they can do is teach my kid the basics!"

"It's when you can't get an erection, Gus," Justin said calmly.

Gus stifled a yawn.

"Ok, you're tired," Brian said quickly. "Time for bed."

Bella heard 'bed' and immediately started crying. "I don wanna go bed!"

Brian lifted her into his arms. "Stop crying! You've got to get up early tomorrow."

"Why?" Bella sniffed.

"Because I said so," Brian muttered grumpily. "No more questions. And why are your hands so sticky? Jesus, Bella. Please tell me you haven't touched any of my papers on the table!"

Justin helped Gus clear up the table as Brian got Bella ready for bed. They could hear Brian scolding her upstairs as she shouted back at him.

"Justin, can I ask you something?" Gus asked softly.

Justin put the lid on the Scrabble box. "Sure, Gus. You can ask me anything."

"Are you and dad ok?"

Justin took Gus' hands in his own. "Why do you ask?"

"Because you guys are acting weird."

"What do you mean?"

Gus shrugged. "The same way mom and Mel do when they're mad at each other."

Justin kissed his forehead. "Your father's just a little upset with me right now. But we'll be ok."

"Why's he mad at you?" Gus persisted.

"Because I went to New York without telling him," Justin admitted.

"But why didn't you tell him?"

Justin sighed. He let go of Gus' hand and got up from the table. "I was stupid. I just needed to get a way from everyone for a while."

"But why?" Gus just wouldn't let it go. To him, every situation had a logical explantion.

"I was just stressed, Gus," Justin said as he started unloading the dishwasher. "I needed some space... to breathe and clear my thoughts."

Gus got up and began helping Justin put away the dishes. He knew where everything went, as he was there many weekends. "Are you going to leave dad?"

Justin looked at Gus quickly. "No! Gus, I would never do that."

Gus let out a relieved sigh. "So you still love him?"

"More than anything," Justin assured him.

"Dad loves you a lot too."

"I know he does, sweetie."

"He was really upset today," Gus told him. "He tried not to show it, but I think it bothered him...whatever you did."

"Why do you think that?"

"Because he was just so out of it, you know?"

Justin laughed. "I'm sorry if I ruined your day with him."

"You didn't. We still had fun." Gus put away the last bowl. "I was just a little worried at times. He looked sorta sad. I thought it was 'cos he missed you. I know we normally all go shopping together."

"Did you get everything you wanted?"

"And more!" Gus grinned. "Dad spent a shitload of money on me!"

"Gus," Justin warned. "You know your moms hates it when you use that sort of language."

"I don't talk like that around them!" Gus mumbled. "Anyway, dad got me a new portable CD player, you know the ones you can put in your ear and that's it? It cost like $1000 and he actually bought it for me!"

Justin made a mental note to ask Brian about that when they were talking again.  "Anything else?"

"Just clothes. A new pair of jeans and a couple t-shirts." Gus yawned.

Justin rumpled his hair. "Bedtime. You can show me your new stuff in the morning."

Gus kissed him then up the stairs two at a time.

"Brush your teeth. I'll go check on our little devil," Justin said.

Brian was reading Bella a story. Her eyes were fighting to stay open. Justin leaned down and kissed her forehead.

"Don't forget to say goodnight to Gus," Justin whispered to Brian.

Brian nodded and went back to the story

In the guest room, Gus was already under the covers when Brian walked in.

"All ready for bed?" Brian sat on the edge of the bed. "Did you brush your teeth?"

"Sure did." Gus grinned, showing off his pearly whites.

Brian laughed. "You're such a clown."

Gus smiled. "It's in my genes."

"Well, you didn't get it from me," Brian assured him

Gus placed his hands behind his head and stared up at his father. "Can I ask you something?"

"Shoot."

"How long are you going to stay mad at Justin?"

Brian raised an eyebrow, "Who says I'm mad at him?"

"I do," Gus said. "I'm not blind, you know. And I'm not stupid."

Brian smiled. "Never doubted that, you're my son after all."

"Be serious, dad."

Brian sighed. "Gus, stop worrying. We'll sort it out."

"Are you going to leave him?"

Brian snorted. "As if I could!"

"Dad!"

"No, I'm not going to leave him," he assured him as he pulled the blanket up higher. "And he's not going anywhere either so quit worrying."

Gus conceded. "Alright. If you're sure."

"I'm positive."

"It's just that I like Justin. I like him a lot."

"Well that makes two of us." Brian stood up. "Now you go to sleep."

Justin came in then. "Still up?" He kissed Gus' forehead. "Pancakes for breakfast?"

"Sounds good." Gus closed his eyes and heard the door close quietly.

In their bedroom, Brian and Justin silently got ready for bed. They brushed their teeth in complete silence, staring at each other in the bathroom mirrors.
Justin undressed quickly and crawled under the covers and Brian joined him a minute later.

They lay there in the dark, staring up at the ceiling, thinking about the past couple days.

Brian heard sniffling noises minutes later.

"Justin?" he called softly.

Justin wiped at his tears quickly. Although Brian couldn't see them in the dark, he still wanted to get rid of them. "What?"

"What's wrong?" Brian asked gently as he turned on his side to face Justin.

"Nothing," Justin whispered.

Brian touched the wetness at Justin's cheeks. "Why are you crying then?"

Justin sniffed. "I...Brian."

"Yeah?"

"I'm sorry."

"Ok."

"No. I mean it." Justin said firmly. "I was wrong, Brian, and you have every right to be mad at me."

"I know." Brian agreed.

Justin ignored the smugness and continued. "I just felt I had to get away, you know?"

Brian pulled him into his arms. "It's ok, baby."

"Do you forgive me?" Justin slipped an arm around Brian's waist.

Brian kissed his forehead. "As long as you forgive me."

Justin tilted his head so he could kiss Brian's chin. "I do."

Their noses rubbed together. "No more throwing it in my face?"

Justin laughed. "I'll try not to."

Brian grinned. "And I'll try to forget the impotent joke."

Brian kissed him quickly to stop any response, his tongue exploring Justin's mouth. As soon as he pulled away, Justin said, "I wasn't joking!"

He was proven wrong almost immediately when he felt Brian's now hard dick pressing against his thigh.

Brian slapped Justin's bum and pulled him closer for another sizzling kiss. He pulled away but Justin didn't want to stop.

"Hang on a minute," Brian said.

Justin moaned. "I'm fucking horny!"

"We'll take care of that in a minute," Brian promised. "I need to tell you something first."

Justin sighed. "Make it quick then."

Brian took a deep breath. "I think we should let Eddie see Bella."

Justin had the bed-lamp on in seconds. He sat up and glared at Brian. "Are you fucking crazy?"

Brian raised a hand. "Hear me out."

"NO!" Justin shouted. He lowered his voice when he realized. "No, Brian. I won't do it."

"Justin, I think it's a good idea."

"Well I don't!"

"Give her another chance," Brian pleaded. "For me?"

Justin snorted. "Haven't I given you enough chances already?"

Brian shook his head. "Well that was a short truce."

Justin sighed. "I'm sorry. It just came out." He squeezed Brian's hand. "Brian, please don't ask me to do this."

Brian pulled his blond lover down for a kiss. "Alright. You win."

"Promise me you won't let her see Bella."

"I promise."

Justin sighed and turned off the light. He slipped an arm around Brian's waist and kissed his hard nipple.

"Thanks for understanding, Brian."

But Brian didn't understand. And he already knew he wasn't going to keep this promise. He knew he was right about this one though...his gut told him so.

Justin flicked a tongue at his nipple before taking it in his mouth, bringing Brian out of his cumbersome thoughts.

"What are you doing?" Brian asked when he noticed Justin digging through the drawer.

"Looking for lube," he said. "I thought you could fuck me while you've still got it up."

Justin ducked when he saw the pillow come flying towards his head.
