MY GIRL
Part 7

Justin wasn't exactly sure how long he stood there staring at the vision in front of him, but he couldn't help himself. The woman looked exactly like Jaime.

"Are you Justin Taylor?" she asked nervously. "The man across the street told me you lived next door to Jaime, but I wasn't sure where to…"

Justin licked his lips. "Oh God! I'm so sorry. I've been so rude, just staring at you. Yes, I'm Justin. How…?"

The girl smiled. "Jaime wrote me and told me all about you."

Justin nodded. "I take it you're her sister or something?"

"Oh, shit!" she extended a palm. "I'm Sam…her younger sister."

Justin moved aside. "You guys look so alike. I thought I'd seen a ghost. Come inside. Want some breakfast? I made a lot this morning and…didn't get a chance to eat anything yet." He didn't think she needed to know about Brian just yet.

She declined the offer as she walked upstairs, opting to sit on the leather sofa. "Let me get you something to drink?" Justin offered again. He had gotten over the initial shock but was still a little bit cautious.

Sam shook her head. "Justin…I'll just cut to the chase. I don't want to waste any of your time. I just want to see my niece."

Justin wasn't sure what to say. He didn't know this woman yet…and Jaime had never even talked much about her family. It was a topic she stayed away from, sort of like Brian did. "She's asleep." Justin finally said. The phone rang then, saving him from saying anything else.

"Are you still mad at me?" It was Brian.

"No." Justin said softly.

"Well, I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you on Saturday. Make you breakfast in bed after we fuck all night. What do you say?"

"Sure."

"Hey. What's wrong? Are you ok?" The concern was obvious in his voice.

"I'm fine. I have a little visitor." Justin muttered.

"At this hour? Who?"

Justin smiled at Sam and said, "I'll go see if Bella's up." He walked into his daughter's room and closed the door behind him. "Brian? Jaime's sister is here. She wants to see Bella."

"Jaime has a sister?"

Justin watched his daughter sleep, caressing her cheek. "Yes…Sam. I feel funny about this. Something's not right."

"Ok. Calm down. This is just your over-protective nature taking over. Nothing's wrong with letting her see Bella. Jaime would want her to."

Justin sighed. "I know. Anyways, let me not leave her downstairs by herself. I'll see you later ok?" He hung up. Just as he was about to leave the room, he heard, "Daddy?" Bella was up. He kissed her good morning, brushed her teeth and got her out of her sleepers before taking her downstairs.

Sam got off the sofa when she saw Bella, tears in her blue eyes. Bella watched Sam cautiously but made no move to go towards her.

"Sam, this is Bella." Justin said. "Bella, say hello to your Aunt Sam."

Bella smiled. "Hello."

"She's beautiful." Sam whispered. "She's so much like you."

"Want to hold her?"

Sam put out her arms but Bella started fussing so Justin put the baby in her high chair. "She's hungry. If she doesn't eat, she gets grumpy. Took after me in that department too!" Justin joked. Sam smiled and sat on the chair next to Bella.

While Justin fed his daughter her breakfast, Sam played with her. For the rest of the morning, Bella gave Sam hell and Justin got a break. Brian called twice to make sure everything was ok and Justin had reassured him on both occasions. When Justin had put Bella down for her nap, he started on dinner.

"So you raise her on your own?" Sam asked, as she helped cut up the veggies.

Justin bit his lip. "Uhm…yea."

"That must be hard…especially in this big place."

"Well…my brother stays with me." Justin groaned inwardly after telling the lie. Why did he just tell her that?

"Oh? I thought Jaime said you were living with your fiancé or something?"

Justin shrugged. "We split up. She um didn't like the whole baby idea…" Justin wanted a hole to open up in the kitchen for him to fall into. He was talking such rubbish and the lies just kept pouring out.

"Oh…I'm sorry."

"It never would have worked out anyway."

Bella was watching TV with Sam, while Justin was setting the table when Brian came home. He dropped his briefcase on the floor and was about to pull Justin into his arms for a kiss when he heard his lover say, "Sam, meet my brother, Brian."

Brian looked at Justin as if he had gone mad. "What the fuck are you going on about?"

Sam glared at Brian. "You shouldn't allow him to use such foul language in front of Bella, Justin."

Brian glared at Justin, who just shrugged. Bella outstretched her arms. "Dada? Kiss?"

Brian lifted his daughter into his arms and kissed her cheek. Watching Sam coldly, Brian said, "Don't come into my fucking house and tell me how to raise my daughter. Is that clear?"

Sam looked at Justin. "His daughter?"

"We raise her together." Justin explained quickly.

"I don't think she needs two fathers right now…but she could do with a mother..."

Brian laughed mockingly. "Don't tell me what my fucking kid needs. But I'll tell you what you need, to get out of my fucking house!"

Justin touched his arm and gave him a pleading look. "Brian, relax."

Brian glared. Sam glared back. "Jaime would not approve of this. And that's why I'm here. I think Bella should come home with me."

Justin blinked, not sure he had heard what he did. "What? Are you crazy? In case you haven't noticed, this kid is mine."

Bella started fidgeting in Brian's arms. She didn't like it when either of her fathers was upset…more so when it was with each other.

"It's ok princess." Brian said as he kissed her temple. "Dada and daddy aren't fighting."

"You need to leave." Justin told Sam coldly.

She grabbed her coat. "Justin, I'm sorry. But I really think Jaime would have wanted to take care of her."

"Well Jaime's not here. And I'm Bella's father so…"

"Jaime may not be here, but I am." Sam said firmly. "And the baby should be with me...and Jaime's family." She walked downstairs and out the door then.

Brian pulled Justin closer to him. Justin was shaking. "Don't…she's a fucking psycho. You're Bella's dad. No one can take her away from you." Justin took his daughter into his arms, kissing her chubby little face. Bella giggled, oblivious to her father's worry. "I won't let anyone take her away from us, Justin." Brian said softly. He brushed his lips against Justin's temple.

Justin leaned against his lover for support. "I know…that's not the problem, Brian."

"What's wrong then?"

Justin watched him. "Suppose she's right? What if Jaime would have preferred to have Bella with her family? What do we do then?"

Brian sighed. He honestly didn't know what to say.

Justin couldn't believe how drunk he was. He had agreed to go out with Brian and the guys tonight only because he had never felt so depressed in all his life. And with Bella spending the night at Mel and Lindz with Gus, he chose to drink himself into oblivion.

Brian, on the other hand, was the designated driver and had been sipping iced tea all night, which he didn't mind at all. He had enough trouble this week with Justin, crying and being depressed all the time. Sam had called again asking to come over to talk but Brian had told her to leave them alone.

Mel had already said that Justin, being the father, had more right to Bella than Jaime's family did. And Justin provided well for Bella so…

Sitting next to Brian, Justin leaned over and planted a kiss on his lover's mouth. Brian pulled away after a minute and grinned. "Had enough yet?"

Justin blinked as his vision was blurry. "I can never have enough of you, Brian. I love you too much."

Brian kissed him again. Justin was even sweeter when he was drunk. "I love you too." He whispered.

Emmett and Ted watched them and groaned. Mikey, who was looking pretty wasted himself, pointed his finger at them. "That's just disgusting."

"I need a club soda." Justin mumbled against Brian's lips. Brian caressed Justin's head before getting up to get the drink. Justin put an arm around Mikey, who was now gripping the table for support. "Don't you just wish you could find a man like Brian?" Justin joked.

"No." Mikey answered.

"Oh c'mon. You know you do."

"You've certainly got him well trained."

Justin laughed. "He loves me. The great Brian Kinney loves me. What more can a man ask for? In your case though, ANY man would do right now."

Mikey ignored him but Justin pressed on. "Can I ask you something?"

"What?"

"Do you still want him?"

"Want who?" Mikey asked confused.

"Brian."

Mikey's eyes narrowed. "What the fuck is wrong with you?"

Justin shrugged and started laughing. "This is so funny."

Mikey glared. "What are you laughing at?"

"You! All your life you've been waiting around for Brian and I got him." Justin continued laughing. "A fucking kid…and now I've got the great Brian Kinney wrapped around my little finger." He wiggled his finger in front of Mikey's face.

Mikey pushed Justin's hand off his shoulder. "If you say so."

Justin ignored him and kept laughing. "I hope you aren't still waiting around for him...wasting your precious time."

"Shut up, Justin." Mikey said.

"I'm just trying to help you, that's all…Brian's committed to ME…who would have thought…Brian fucking Kinney faithful."

Mikey moved in closer until he was whispering in Justin's ear, "Are you so sure your Mr. wonderful is all he seems? Because I KNOW he's not."

Justin laughed. "You're a liar."

"Am I?" Mikey smirked. "Why don't you ask him then? Ask him how many times he fucked you over in the last couple months. Let's see how perfect he'll be to you then."

Emmett and Ted had stopped talking and were watching them with confused looks on their faces now. "Mikey? What are you saying?" Emmett asked.

Brian returned then, putting his arm around Justin and the soda in front of him. "I got a lemon just for you."

Justin watched Mikey. "Brian, you have shitty friends."

"What?" Brian laughed until he noticed the looks he was getting from Emmett and Ted. "What happened?"

"Mikey says you've been fucking around me." Justin said coldly. "But I know he's lying, Brian…because you promised me you wouldn't." Justin watched Brian then. He wasn't feeling drunk anymore…Mikey's statement had somehow brought him out of it. He felt as though someone had splashed cold water in his face.

Brian was biting at the inside of his mouth, which was a tell tale sign to Justin. "Brian, I'm sorry." Mikey said softly.

"Don't be sorry, Mikey." Justin said getting up. "I should have known better. I'm a fucking idiot…who will never learn."

"Justin?" Brian grabbed his arm. "Don't make a scene here ok. Let's just go home." Justin nodded and walked outside. He needed to get away from it all.

When things went wrong for him, they really went all the way down. The ride home was in silence, with Brian smoking a cigarette and watching Justin out of the corner of his eye. He didn't know how the hell he was going to explain this. Justin would have a cow.

When they got home, Justin silently went upstairs while Brian parked the jeep in the garage and checked to make sure all the windows and doors were locked. In the bedroom, Justin was sitting on his side of the bed, shirtless and staring at the floor.
Brian walked until he was a few inches in front of him before calling his partner's name softly. Justin looked up and Brian's guilt increased when he saw the tears in the younger man's eyes. "Jus-" Brian started.

"Don't say anything." Justin said quietly. For a few moments, they just stared at each other. Then Justin gave him a watery, sad smile. "Am I really that hard to love?"

Brian shook his head. "No, of course not.…I'm just an asshole."

"I must be a horrible person." Justin continued, ignoring Brian. "I don't deserve you Brian."

"Justin, don't do this to yourself."

"I don't deserve anyone…not even Bella." He started to cry. And Brian felt his heart break. He kneeled down in front of Justin and cupped the blonde's face in his hands.

"Don't EVER say that. Do you hear me? You're a good father, Justin…and a good partner. Bella and I would be lost without you…We need you Justin...you are what holds this…family…together!"

Justin couldn't stop the tears from falling. Brian's words meant so much to him. And he was right. They were a family. He hugged Brian and cried like Bella did when she wouldn't get her way.

Eventually, Brian took both his and Justin's clothes off and got them under the covers. He pulled Justin into his arms and let his partner sob silently; caressing his lover's arm to let him know he was there for him…that he'd always be there for him.
Brian kissed his head, inhaling the shampoo in the process. Justin tried to pull away then but Brian wouldn't let him.

He was never going to let Justin go.
